  • Don’t Let Your Storm Overtake You

    Hey Girl,

I pray your today is better than yesterday.

My prayer for you today is PEACE. May the Lord overshadow you with an abundance of peace, right now in Jesus Name.

We all go through, or what I like to label as, “grow through”. None of us are immune to pain.

There have been times in my life that pain held me hostage. The hurt, betrayal and anger I felt was at an all-time high. I understand that suffering must come, but I sure wish it would schedule its appearance to a more suitable date.  It shows up on the wrong day and at the wrong time.

“Whatever you focus on will consume you and eventually overtake you”.

May I encourage you to not allow your situation to get the best of you. When we are in the thick of it, all we seem to think about is the “Why” and the “What”. Why did this happen? What just happened? How can I fix it?

Take a moment and step away from your storm. Start focusing on what’s going right, as opposed to all that’s going wrong.  I’m sure you can list five good things you have going on right now. ( #1 – You are here )

Focus on that. Be thankful for the good and let God handle your situation.

You can’t control what happened.  You are only  responsible for how you respond.

Respond so that God is pleased.

I love you to life and think you are FABULOUS!

Be FABULOUS (even in the midst of the storm).

  • 15 Years of Marriage = 15 Reasons Why I Love You (#3)

On March 6, my husband and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage.

To celebrate the man I married, I’m going to  blog for for the next 15 days….

    #3

    You are an amazing father.

Growing up without a father, I always wondered what it would be like to have “Daddy” come see me cheer, drive me to the mall or watch me in my plays. At times I catch myself watching you interact with the kids and whisper, ” I wish I had a Daddy like you.”  ( tears …) Thank you for being a “real” father.

I love you more than all the books in the library…..

  • Should We Forgive ?

Forgiveness is key after an affair in your relationship.
It’s impossible to move on with unforgiveness.

When we don’t forgive, we are setting ourselves up to be miserable.

Oh, let me tell you, my initial reaction to the affair in my marriage had nothing to do with forgiveness.
I was hurt, therefore I wanted him to hurt.

    Nicole wanted revenge !

This is a human reaction ( or at least it was mine ).
These were emotions and feelings I could not get past without prayer. As I began to reflect on my transgressions
and how thankful I was for my sins being forgiven, it was much easier to forgive. My faith tells me that I must forgive.
If we don’t forgive, we will not be forgiven. It works two ways.

“forgive us of our trespasses, as we forgive those whe tresspass against us”

That is part of The Lords Prayer.

We recite this, but do we mean it?

It’s easier to forgive when we we know we have been forgiven.
