Book Marketing Tips: Create a Google Alert

Sharing is caring!

so_he_hurt_you_now_whatWriting your future best seller is not the part of the book process that will break your back; getting the much needed  exposure to encourage readers to purchase your book, is the part that you must dedicate time, preparation and  planning . My first book, So He Cheated, Now What ? was  a learning experience. I did almost everything WRONG when it came to marketing. I’m not ashamed to tell you that. I believe we live and learn. When you know better, you should do better.  I’m  trying to do better this go round.

You write it, publish it  and then they’ll come is a LIE from the pit of hell !

This go around I have tried to be a bit more strategic and it’s paying off. My new release, “So He Hurt You, Now What? – Messages of Hope for my Hurting Sister” was released on February 10, 2014  and the response has been tremendous. I will not lie, it’s been work , but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! If you’re releasing your first book, make sure you take your vitamins, pray for strength and get ready to put in the work.

I’ve decided to share some tips that have worked for me, things I want to do and things that I will NEVER  do again.

Book Marketing Tip #1

Create a Google Alert with your name and   book title to keep track of everyone that featured / mentions your book.Leave a comment.  Show gratitude and say thank you. A thank you goes along way, plus you’ve created a back link to your website / blog. It’s also a great way to see where your readers are and what they are talking about. If your  book is about “overcoming an affair in your marriage”, create an alert with those  words and watch the alerts come pouring in.  These are potential readers and buyers all over the web with people talking specifically about your topic.   http://www.google.com/alerts
